NBCC 2020 Load Combination Generator | ULS and SLS
Generate all applicable NBCC 2020 factored load combinations for a single generic load effect. Enter signed, specified (unfactored) loads for dead, live, snow, wind, earthquake, lateral earth/hydrostatic, prestress, and temperature, and the tool enumerates every Ultimate (Table 4.1.3.2) and Serviceability (Table 4.1.3.4) combination, applies both 1.25D and 0.9D dead variants, expands companion permutations, suppresses irrelevant combinations when a load is zero, and reports the governing maximum and minimum total with full equation output.
All NBCC 2020 Ultimate Limit State combinations from Table 4.1.3.2 (Cases 1-5) and Serviceability combinations from Table 4.1.3.4, including both 1.25D and 0.9D dead-load variants and all companion-load permutations.
How are uplift and counteracting loads handled?
Inputs are signed (e.g. wind uplift entered negative). The tool applies both 1.25D and 0.9D and selects the worst case separately for the maximum and the minimum, so counteracting-dead and uplift scenarios are captured.
Does the tool apply importance factors?
No. It assumes I = 1.0. Enter loads already factored for importance; deriving and applying Is, Iw, and Ie remains the engineer's responsibility.
